If you’re missing most or all of your teeth, All-on-4 implants offer a cutting-edge solution to restore your smile with minimal downtime. This innovative technique uses just four strategically placed dental implants to support a full arch of replacement teeth, providing a stable, durable, and natural-looking alternative to traditional dentures.
At our Irvine dental office, we specialize in All-on-4 dental implant procedures, delivering personalized care to help you achieve a confident, functional smile.
What Are All-on-4 Implants?
All-on-4 implants are a permanent tooth replacement option designed to support an entire arch of teeth using only four implants. Two implants are placed at the front of the jaw, and two are angled at the back for maximum stability. This method minimizes the need for bone grafting and ensures a secure foundation for your new teeth.
Benefits of All-on-4 Implants:
- Natural appearance and function
- Improved chewing and speaking ability
- Reduced risk of bone loss
- A more secure, permanent alternative to traditional dentures
- Shorter treatment and recovery time
The All-on-4 Dental Implant Procedure
- Initial Consultation
The process begins with a comprehensive evaluation, including X-rays and 3D imaging, to assess your oral health and bone structure. This helps us determine if you’re a candidate for All-on-4 implants and create a customized treatment plan.
- Treatment Planning
During this step, we design the placement of the implants and the prosthetic teeth to ensure optimal function and aesthetics. Any necessary preparatory procedures, such as tooth extractions, are also planned at this stage.
- Implant Placement
On the day of the procedure, we place four titanium implants into the jawbone. The two front implants are positioned vertically, while the two back implants are angled to maximize contact with the existing bone, avoiding areas with insufficient density.
- Temporary Prosthetic Placement
A temporary set of teeth is attached to the implants immediately after placement, allowing you to leave our office with a functional, natural-looking smile. These temporary teeth help you adjust to your new implants while your jawbone heals.
- Healing and Osseointegration
Over the next three to six months, the implants fuse with the jawbone in a process called osseointegration. This creates a strong, stable foundation for your permanent teeth.
- Final Prosthetic Placement
Once healing is complete, we replace the temporary prosthetic with a custom-made, durable set of permanent teeth. These teeth are designed to blend seamlessly with your natural features for a flawless smile.

Teeth in a Day
All on X, All on 4 are the same dental procedure. Essentially, the patient is diagnosed with teeth needing replacement due to wear/decay/bone loss. Sometimes, the most efficient restorative option is to replace all the teeth in the arch with implants and implant supported dentures. The advantage to this treatment is receiving new teeth in one visit. This procedure generally involves removing all teeth in an arch and placing 4-6 anchoring implants. Commonly, a temporary over denture or bridge is secured to the new implants. The patient goes home with new teeth. After the implants have fully integrated and healed into the bone, the patient will return for a 2nd stronger and better fitting implant supported denture. The patient will need to return for bite adjustments and proper hygiene care from time to time.
