Before You Arrive

To make your first appointment as smooth as possible, we recommend downloading and completing your new patient forms in advance. Having your insurance information, medical history, and any relevant dental records ready ahead of time helps us make the most of your appointment and ensures that Dr. Passamano has the full picture of your health before your visit begins.

Your Comprehensive Exam

The heart of your first visit is a thorough comprehensive exam. Dr. Passamano will take the time to review your medical and dental history, ask about any concerns or symptoms you’ve been experiencing, and perform a careful evaluation of your teeth, gums, bite, jaw, and surrounding tissues. This includes:

• A full set of dental X-rays to give Dr. Passamano a complete view of what’s happening beneath the surface, identifying decay, bone levels, and any issues not visible to the naked eye
• A periodontal evaluation to assess the health of your gum tissue and check for any signs of gum disease
• An oral cancer screening as a routine part of every comprehensive exam
• A bite and jaw assessment to check for signs of grinding, TMJ issues, or misalignment

Professional Cleaning

In most cases, your first visit will also include a professional cleaning with our wonderful hygienist, who takes great care to make the experience thorough and comfortable. A cleaning removes the plaque and tartar buildup that regular brushing and flossing can’t fully address, leaving your teeth feeling fresh and polished.

A Clear, Honest Conversation

Before you leave, Dr. Passamano will walk you through everything he found, explain any areas of concern in plain language, and discuss your options. If treatment is recommended, you’ll understand exactly why, what it involves, and how it will benefit your oral health.
